Wednesday night was a solid effort against a team with some weapons. Nothing flashy except pounding singles and doubles throughout the order. Paul made a nice double play relay throw at 2B and Molly played a solid SS for the first time this year. Lis had her first hit of the year and Eve made a daring slide at home, during which she yet again opened her elbow wound that will likely linger for the entire season. After a tough 0-3 against Topco, I (Miles) bounced back with a good 3-4 day at the plate.

<wpg2>3562</wpg2><wpg2>3537</wpg2><wpg2>3559</wpg2>

Just as in the game against Topco, we utilized a 6 girls and 6 guys batting order. It may be no coincidence that both of these games were handily won as a consistent order keeps everyone’s head in the game.

On a sad note, the Seashells lost one of it’s players to injury Thursday night when Christine Schwarz broke her fibula in a non-Skokie softball game. We will miss her pitching, fielding and hitting, but hopefully she can still make it to some of the remaining games to cheer her teammates on.

Pictures are up here and video is coming later in the day.
